Il Vigneto is a private villa nestled in the southern countryside of Siena (34km south of Siena), in the land of the clay hills, Crete Senesi, near Sinalunga.
The villa is part of a large farm of 212 hectars with fantastic views in the surrounding rolling hills . The owners produce high quality wine and extra virgin olive oil, and the olive groves and the wine yards are all around the villa; the owners also organize strolling throught the property explaning the secrects of farming, olive oil and wine tasting, cooking classes and of course dinners (barbecue, typical Tuscan, pizza). The estate includes also truffle fields, so the owners organize truffle hunting and serve truffle dinners (when in season).
The villa was originally restored in 1802, and then again restored and modernized to its actual state between 1995 and 2000.
Il Vigneto can accommodate a maximum of 16 guests in the main villa or 20 guests in the villa plus the dependance, a traditional brick building typical of the region, once used as a farm out building, but now beautifully converted into a self contained apartment. The dependance consists of two double bedrooms, two bathrooms each with jacuzzi, living room with kitchen corner and a private external area with BBQ.
The main villa has 8 bedrooms (with either a double or two single beds), each with private bathroom with shower or jacuzzi, telephone and minibar. The large living room offers all comforts including Satellite TV, wireless internet connection, stereo, DVD player; there are also two dining rooms, a big kitchen, two patios and a large wood oven.
The villa has its own private swimming pool (open mid 10 May to end of September) with Jacuzzi corner and furnished with sun umbrellas and deckchairs, from where guests can enjoy spectacular views stretching as far as Siena and Monte Amiata.
The villa is half an hour's drive from the famous art and historic towns of Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino and Cortona.
The price includes: bedroom and kitchen linen changed weekly, maid service with change of bath linen twice a week. On request and payable locally: breakfast, dinner, wine tasting, cooking lesson.
Weekly prices below refers to the main villa - the annex will be rented on request or kept closed.
